The worldwide installed based of internet of things devices (IoT) is expected to soar to 106 billion units in 2030, rising by nearly a factor of four from 28 billion in 2020, according to Omdia.
The influence of the IoT has now expanded to impact virtually every field and every market, from automotive, to industrial, to consumer. Because of its massive size and rapid growth, the IoT is playing a central role in technology supply chains, influencing diverse markets including electronic components, artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing.
